TVO provides learning opportunities for Ontarians through innovative educational products, in-depth current affairs, groundbreaking documentaries, and award-winning TVOKids resources both inside and outside the classroom. TVO is funded primarily by the Province of Ontario and is a registered charity supported by sponsors and thousands of donors.

TVO’s current affairs department places interns with both our online team and with The Agenda with Steve Paikin. The Agenda with Steve Paikin is TVO’s public affairs program, devoted to exploring social, political, cultural & economic issues, as they pertain to Ontarians. It airs weekdays at 8/11pm.

The Agenda internship is an educational internship open to students currently registered with a post-secondary institution program journalism/broadcast/digital media or communications.  The internship must be for course credit or mandatory for course completion. We will grade or assess students based on the requirements set out by Ryerson University.

The program is usually four- or six-weeks in duration. It’s an editorial internship where you will research segments for producers, receive hands-on training, skills workshops and learn how a daily current affairs program is put together.  You will be required to pitch stories every week.
